Freelance and fixed term opportunities are available for a Senior Digital Designer. This is a rich and varied role, ranging from bringing place branding and placemaking schemes to life, through creating motion graphics for architectural projects. There will be elements of UX and UI for digital mapping and interfaces. The job will encompass many ways in which people engage through digital in relation to the built environment.

About the Role

  • Under the guidance of the Creative lead, provide a senior role in the creative, effective and innovative design and delivery from concept to completion of a project. These will include Motion Graphics and digital solutions for Branding, Placemaking and Environmental design projects
  • Manage the workloads of more junior staff to ensure the effective delivery of any project
  • Gain a full understanding of any project brief including undertaking any client briefings and filter back to the project team
  • Contribute to ideas generation meetings such as Design sprints
  • Follow up with design proposals under the guidance of the project lead, supporting any more junior staff members
  • Attend any meetings/presentations as required, providing clear and effective presentations – visual, written and spoken
  • Ensure all projects are delivered to the level of information required for any particular design stage, to agreed deadlines and budgets
  • Keep up-to-date with new production methods and techniques
  • Provide indicative costs, as and when required, for budgeting purposes
  • Conduct any relevant research for projects
  • Have the ability to interpret architectural drawings and 3d product design drawings, working with the 3d designer to ensure all work is fully integrated
  • Contribute to the role of project management on any project
  • Show complete attention to detail
  • Maintain all records and files relating to the design work for each project
  • Assist in achieving studio and project goals
  • Develop and maintain potential supplier contacts
  • Add insight and value to projects
  • Support new business activities
  • Work on multiple projects at a time, depending on size of projects
  • Maintain an understanding of current design, innovations and trends
  • Provide effective leadership skills – motivate, inspire and guide junior colleagues
  • Carry out ad hoc duties as requested by appropriate managers
