The Senior WM Risk Manager is active in identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling, and reporting risk related to Wealth Management activities to Senior Management, under the leadership of the Head of Group WM Risk Management.
In this role, he/she shares responsibilities and coverage of the following activities:
Investment Process Control: monitoring, controlling, and reporting on the adherence of discretionary and advisory accounts to investment guidelines, investment strategy, Swiss Banking Association (SBA) Guidelines, LSFin, MIFID, and various local regulatory requirements.
Performance and Risk Analysis: conducting performance analysis, risk assessments, and portfolio analytics.
Risk Management Advisory: direct interventions and providing risk advice to relationship and portfolios managers.
Enhancement of the risk control system: active participation in the enhancement and operating an independent second line of defense proprietary system for risk control and assessment of WM portfolios (value at risk, stress scenarios, risk modeling).
Operational Risk Control: evaluation, monitoring, and reporting on key operational risk indicators and active participation in WM operational risk mapping assessments.
Implementation of Control Procedures: collaboration with the Group COO WM, Business Monitoring, and the Group Operational Risk Head to define operational control procedures for WM activities.
Participation in WM Projects: active contribution from a risk management perspective to Wealth Management-related projects.
Validation of Pricing Models: evaluation of complex and illiquid products and validation of pricing models in WM underlying systems.
Review of Controls and Risk Assessments: review of the effectiveness of controls and risk assessments conducted by the first line of defense (1st LoD).
Investment Risk Reporting: participating in the monthly generation of WM investment risk reports as well as periodic risk reports for WM according to MFC definitions.
Crisis Management : anticipation, proactive recommendation, and management of crisis situations.
Compliance with Regulatory Requirements: ensuring, in collaboration with WM / Investment Services, Compliance and Legal Departments, strict adherence to regulatory and supervisory requirements, as well as standardization of investment guidelines across all entities.
Administration of Risk Management tools: administration, update, and operating underlying WM risk tools and reporting functionalities (VaR, illiquid positions, performance, concentration, derivatives analysis).
Coordination with Local Risk Managers: ensuring links between the Head Office and local risk managers in London and Jersey.
