About TSSP Phase 3

The PNG–Australia Transport Sector Support Program (TSSP) is a critical, high-priority Australian investment that stands to make a major contribution to PNG development outcomes.

Working closely with the Government of PNG (GoPNG), TSSP3 will build on the significant body of achievements, lessons, and relationships from the past 15 years of operation and will continue to contribute to the achievement of the overarching goal of:

‘A more effective, efficient, and inclusive transport system, enabling the economic and social development of PNG.’

About the Role
Reporting to the Inclusion & Safeguards Director, the GEDSI Manager will work closely with TSSP3 transport sector partner agency counterparts to develop and strengthen policies, strategies, plans, and activities aimed at improving GEDSI across the sector in alignment with TSSP3’ GEDSI Strategy and Action Plan. The focus will be on mainstreaming and improving outcomes in the areas of gender equity, disability equity and social inclusion. 

About you

 

To be successful for this role, you must possess the following including, but not limited to:

 

  • Relevant qualifications (preferably Masters) in fields such as Development Effectiveness, International Development, Gender, Safeguards or Human Rights
  • 8-10 years professional work experience in Gender Equity and Social Inclusion as a cross cutting issue in the Pacific
  • Demonstrated understanding of the synergy between international, regional, and national GEDSI policies/strategies, preferably in the Pacific
  • Demonstrated ability to provide policy advice to support development of internal GEDSI policies, preferably in the transport sector
  • Knowledge of impact assessments and ability to formulate and manage Gender Action Plans
  • Demonstrated application of capacity development methodologies to support agencies and their staff in implementing GEDSI policies, plans, and activities
  • Demonstrated understanding of the relationship between cross cutting development issues, including gender equality and women’s empowerment, child protection, disability, HIV/AIDS, social safeguards, and road safety policies as well as their stand-alone issues
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to lead the preparation of key reports and other written materials
