Within the Communication and Fundraising department (C&F), we are currently seeking a: 

  

Database Marketeer (80-100%) 

Based in Amsterdam

As a database marketeer you translate fundraising questions into data. You work on setting up and developing customer selections and journeys for fundraising campaigns. You ensure the perfect selection to connect different target groups to Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders). You work closely with your peer data colleagues and the fundraisers, email marketeers, and event managers who need specific selections. You make complex selections and journeys with our advanced marketing automation tool. Thanks to your precise selections, you contribute to sending the right message, at the right time, through the right channel to the right person. 

The data you have at hand helps the entire organization optimize donor lifecycles. For example, gift behavior, interaction with our campaigns, data on loyalty, or email data. And the best part: everything comes together because of you! 

What you will do: 

  • You have experience with campaign management / marketing automation and want to make campaigns increasingly relevant and smarter. 

  • You are responsible for processing a campaign briefing: together with the fundraisers, you define the objectives and conditions. 

  • You advise on which target groups are most suitable and you translate campaign briefings into data. 

  • Building, improving, and automating Marketing Campaigns, through relevant selections. 

  • You ensure that the foundation of the CRM system is set for a campaign. 

  • You take actions to improve our marketing automation tool and add new functionalities that enhance our fundraising efforts. 

  • You are accurate, you meticulously check the selections, manage your schedule, and meet your deadlines. 

  • You collaborate with the data colleagues to understand the impact of your selections on the campaign result, handling of the data and the data quality.

We are looking for   

An expert on data who wants to take responsibility for the optimal selection for fundraising campaigns. You are data-driven and eager for a challenge! You want to develop data and know how to analyse this to optimise fundraising results. You are pro-active and solution-oriented and have good communication skills.   

  • Bachelor or Master education (Beta) and or extensive experience in a data role - preferably - relevant work experience in a fundraising environment or experience in CRM or marketing automation tools 

  • Knowledge of Marketing automation tools. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics CE, or other CRM systems, or SQL is an asset 

  • Experience in a data-driven environment 

  • Excellent time management and communication skills 

  • Team player 

  • Understanding of common security practices as privacy (GDPR)   

  • Solution-oriented, hands-on, with integrity and an innovative and creative mindset   

  • Good command of the English language in both speech and writing. Knowledge of Dutch is an asset.  

We offer   

  • A challenging position within a stimulating, professional working environment in a major international organisation.   

  • A Dutch employment contract based on 40 hours per week. The contract is for one year with a renewal option (subject to satisfactory performance) based on a full-time appointment.   

  • A gross monthly salary in scale 15 between €3.529 and €4.858 depending on professional experience, based on a 40-hour working week.   

  • 30 days off (based on a full-time employment) 

  • A premium free pension where MSF covers 100% of the monthly pension contribution 

  • 8% holiday allowance paid out with the salary in May
