Business Development Manager for advanced digitalization solutions in the chemical industry

To service our worldwide clients, IPCOS operates from offices in Belgium, UK, Netherlands, India, UAE and USA. Through capitalizing synergies with parent company Process Automation Solutions, we strive to serve our customer’s compete digitalization journey even better.

The IPCOS portfolio of solutions and services currently covers the following core areas: Industrial Data Management, Industry 4.0 Consulting, (Advanced) Process Control, Loop tuning & PID tuning software.

To help accelerate our further growth in the entire North America region (with primary focus on the Gulf Coast region), we are looking to hire a Business Development Manager based in Houston, Texas.

 

Role and responsibilities:

    • You are the customer interface responsible for the development of new business, new relationships, and management of relationships with strategic customers. 
    • You act as a Business partner with potential customers, establishing strategic relationships & maximizing the business potential for both parties.  
    • You understand the customer’s business and organization and have a good understanding of the services that IPCOS can bring to the customer to drive to real business outcomes.  
    • From a business development perspective, you identify market and client opportunities, your craft creative pursuit strategies, and provide subject matter expertise. 
    • You disseminate key messages, new initiatives, technical insights and information related to the value IPCOS brings to that specific customer at all levels of the customer’s organization. You discuss relevant trends, integrating industry knowledge and solution knowledge.
    • You look after your customers’ needs and requirements within the IPCOS organization.  
    • You respond to RFPs and are responsible for bid preparation, follow-up, negotiation and closing of sales.
    • You provide IPCOS’ management team with account updates, sales forecasts, etc.

     

    Profile:

    • You have significant experience in a consultative selling role in the North America (preferably Gulf Coast) region, and you have a broad knowledge of solution sales principles and best practices.
    • You can bring to the table a well-connected network in the chemicals industry and a background in process industries akin to IPCOS. Furthermore, a comprehensive grasp of IPCOS' value proposition and a thorough awareness of the chemicals and energy industry's client and competitor landscape are essential.
    • You have a solid understanding of digital transformation (and ideally also process optimization) offering.
    • You have affinity with concepts like Industrial Data Management, Industry 4.0, Advanced analytics, OEE, Shift logbook, etc.
    • Understanding of (Advanced) Process Control/ real time optimization / alarm management / PID tuning  is considered a plus
    • An engineering or software engineering degree is preferred.
    • Native English speaker or a strong English-speaking background is preferred.
    • You have excellent communication skills and an ability to influence customers, while maintaining healthy relationships.
    • You have a hands-on mentality and love to take ownership and initiative.
    • You travel extensively (+- 25% of the time), mainly in the USA region.
    • You can be based in Houston, USA.
