With immediate effect, our Finance & Business Operations team is looking for a:  

 

                                      Restricted Funding Liaison (40 hours) 

                                                                   Amsterdam 

 

Join a mission-driven team dedicated to transforming lives worldwide through strategic funding. We’re seeking a Restricted Funding Liaison to help drive the growth of earmarked funding from private donors for the Operational Center Amsterdam. This role is ideal for an experienced donor relationship manager with a keen understanding of operations who is passionate about humanitarian impact and fostering meaningful partnerships. 

 

About the Role 

In this role, you will work closely with our Finance, Operations and Communication & Fundraising team, focusing on Major Donors, Foundations, and Corporate Partners. As a critical member of our team, you will monitor the evolving private donor landscape, identify key opportunities, and work with multiple departments to champion impactful projects to prospective donors. 

 

 

 

Your Responsibilities 

  • Market Insight & Project Knowledge: Stay updated on developments in the private donor market and landscape, as well as knowledge of country programs across OCA, to identify restricted funding opportunities.  

  • Collaboration & Engagement: Actively engage with Operations, alongside Fundraising and Finance teams, to create compelling cases for support and build donor understanding and engagement in our projects. 

  • Strategic Fundraising: Develop and execute strategies to grow earmarked funding through special donations from individuals, foundations, and corporations, especially in relation to our capital campaign. 

  • Relationship Building: Foster and deepen relationships with existing major donors, ensuring their ongoing engagement and commitment to our work. 

  • Donor Development: Create personalized engagement plans for donors and prospects to better align with their interests and expand their involvement with MSF. 

  • Monitoring & Reporting: Track, evaluate, and report on restricted fundraising activities to ensure transparency and impact. 

  • Fundraising Partnership: Maintain consistent communication with fundraising teams across the MFS movement to harmonize efforts across teams. 

  • Project Selection: Assess and select impactful projects for earmarked funding that resonate with donors, in close partnership with the Operations Expert and Assistant.  

 

About You 

To excel in this role, you should bring: 

  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years in relationship management and/or operations within the medical humanitarian or international emergency aid sector. 

  • Communication Skills: You’re a strong communicator who thrives in one-on-one interactions and are confident speaking to large groups. 

  • Leadership & Project Management: Proven ability to lead complex projects, coordinating with multiple stakeholders. 

  • Multilingual Abilities: Fluency in English is essential; Dutch and/or French are a plus. 

  • Ambition & Ethics: You are results-oriented with an entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to quality, ethics, and building long-term relationships. 

  • Bonus Skills: Experience with capital campaigns and an established professional network are highly advantageous, as well as knowledge of MSF program country operations.
