The Surveys team of BMT has offices in Antwerp, Amsterdam and Rotterdam. The company is providing a wide portfolio of services in cargo, nautical and technical matters, is specializes in investigations claims and damages in the maritime sector, providing risk assessments and audits on board of seagoing vessels. Our clients are parties involved in the maritime and insurance industry and are mainly owners, operators of vessels, liability insurers (P&I clubs), Hull and Machinery underwriters, cargo insurers, operators of offshore equipment, cranes, etc.

We are seeking to engage with a Survey Coordinator / Vessel Inspection Planner interested in joining our Risk and Quality Team and becoming part of a growing and successful business. 

As a Survey Coordinator / Vessel Inspection Planner you will responsible to schedule inspections worldwide, mostly with the aid of subcontractors, keep a close eye on schedules and keep clients updated. Furthermore, reports of subcontractors are to be reviewed prior sending the reports to clients.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Work related experience with a minimum of 3 years, preferably with a completed nautical education;
  • Experience in the maritime industry;
  • Excellent knowledge of the Dutch and English language (verbally and in writing);
  • Taking on tasks and projects independently;
  • Good administrative and coordination skills;
  • The capability to be a team player as well as being able to work autonomously;
  • A high level of accuracy and is able to deliver high quality work;
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office and other applicable software);
  • The ability to professionally communicate with all level of staff.
