Deputy Chief Representative and Regional Head of Treasury and Asset Management, Americas

You will be responsible for running market operations and asset management in the Americas region for the BIS. As an advisor to central bank customers, you will analyse local markets, develop business relationships, and represent the BIS at conferences. You will collaborate with the Chief Representative to ensure consistent relationships with central banks, support the overall objectives and actively craft and implement the strategy of the BIS Representative Office. As a member of the Banking Department Management Group, you will contribute to the strategy for the BIS banking services and monitor its implementation, as well as contribute towards fostering strong market relationships and drive the BIS's presence in the Americas.

Strategy for central banks
Markets strategy
Pricing and dealing strategy
· Determine short-term pricing and dealing strategy with regional central bank customers based on BIS dealing guidelines for Central Banks and in consultation with other Banking department line managers.
Contacts with central banks
· Collaborate with the Head of Central Bank Services and the Chief Representative to establish, maintain, and develop business relationships with regional central banks, potentially including the organization of reserve management seminars in the region.
Contacts with commercial banks
· Build and maintain contacts with regional commercial banks, including visits for information exchange and relationship development. Share relevant information on regional commercial banks with colleagues in Risk Management as needed. Actively participate in conferences and meetings on market topics.

Qualifications, skills and experience:
§ Master’s degree in economics, finance or equivalent
§ Substantial experience at a senior level in a central bank markets function or international financial services organisation
§ Clear record of achievement in international capital markets, with deep experience in prudent treasury, foreign exchange, asset/liability management and/or portfolio management
§ Detailed knowledge of regional financial markets and their infrastructures
§ Excellent analytical, leadership and strategic capabilities
§ Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with an established network in the central banking community
§ Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish. Working knowledge of Portuguese is desirable.
