The Bank for International Settlements is looking for a Dealer Assistant to join the Banking Treasury team in Basel, Switzerland.
To check and record all incoming messages from BIS Banking customers, to process customer call/notice transactions and fixed term deposits, to manage both internal and customer queries.
Recording of deals
Check and distribute incoming SWIFT messages, ensuring all customer instructions and maturing operations are processed daily. Enter central bank transactions into the deal capture system, verify account funds for payments, and ensure AML compliance.
Customer follow-up
Investigate and resolve customer enquiries or transaction issues, consulting with relationship managers as needed, and prepare written explanations for customers. Follow up on settlement claims for failed payments.
Reporting
Prepare daily internal and external reports, ensuring efficient process execution and improvement. Keep the Head of Central Bank Services and relationship managers updated on customers’ daily cash positions.
Keeping of records
Performs proper archiving of incoming customer messages and other documents as required (Standard Operating Procedures, specific documentation, etc.).
Business continuity planning
Participates in activities aimed at maintaining and strengthening the Bank’s business continuity preparedness.
Projects
Participates in improving, developing processes or tools (analysis, testing, etc.).
· Banking diploma or equivalent commercial certification.
· Relevant work experience in a similar position in banking operations.
· Good knowledge of SWIFT messaging.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
· Experience in office administration would be an advantage.
· Accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
· Collaborative team member and initiative-driven individual.
· Adaptable and performs well under pressure.
· Proficient in both written and spoken English. Fluency in an additional language would be desirable.
