JOB DESCRIPTION
|
|
- Ensures that adequate safety precautions are taken prior to any job
- Report accidents, incidents and near misses immediately
- Inspect visually for leakage
- Inspect and top up coolant, lubricant and fuel level
- Drain water and sediment from fuel and air tanks daily
- Inspect and record engine oil pressure and coolant temperature during operations
- Inspect mounting bolts for tightness for all motors
- Clean externally and internally all heat exchangers, oil coolers, sea water strainers, AC air filters and bilge pump strainers.
- Assist Chief Engineer in preventive maintenance for main and auxiliary engines including change of oil, oil filters and air filters.
- Inspect gauges and indicators daily.
- Assist Chief Engineer in repairing and maintaining main and auxiliary engines, air conditioning units, chillers, freezers, pumos and vessels crane in order to ensure a smooth and trouble free operation of the vessel.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCY
|
- Must be proficient in the English language
- Must have intermediate computer skills
- Knowledge of UAE and International Maritime Laws
- Preventive maintenance of vessel machines and equipment
- Repair and troubleshooting of vessel machines and equipment
- Inventory of spare parts, fuel, oil and auxiliaries
