Description

The Bank for International Settlements is looking for a Senior Project Manager - Stakeholder relations Campus Development to join our Real Estate and Facility Management team.

This role is based in Basel, however, thanks to our status as an international organization, we can hire globally and welcome applications from candidates of all nationalities and located anywhere in the world. Relocation support is available for the successful candidate and their dependent family members.

Purpose of the role:

Support the Head of REFM in maintaining stakeholder relations (including with the Campus Development Group) and enhancing stakeholder experience in Campus Development (CD) work programmes and projects. Produce papers and reports for key internal stakeholders, including to the Board of Directors. Deliver stakeholder engagement activities and act as coordinator of the development of the CD internal and external communications programme, within the Bank-wide communications framework and in direct collaboration with the Communications unit.

Principal accountabilities:

  • Develop and implement a multi-year communications and stakeholder relations plan for the programme, under the guidance of the Head of REFM and Deputy Head of Communications, ensuring alignment with the overall BIS communications strategy.
  • Produce and draft reports and proposals to the governance bodies of the project and for stakeholders, such as the Board of Directors, its Administrative Committee and the Campus Development Group. Advise on the preparation for related meetings, draft notes, speeches, and presentations.
  • Act as the coordinator of the CD internal and external communications programme. Deliver content and campaigns through appropriate internal and external communication channels, within the Bank-wide communications framework, in direct collaboration with the Communications unit and within its governance arrangements, communication adviser planning and advisory model.
  • Act as a contact point for general stakeholder queries in coordination with the responsible teams in REFM, the CD programme space planner and the change manager. Assist with the preparation of responses to enquiries, memos or presentations to stakeholders by CD’s and the Bank’s Management.
  • Support the development and production of multimedia content and briefing materials for internal and external stakeholders, including the local community, using various media communication channels (including websites, intranet and social media).
  • Plan and organise internal and external events and exhibitions and interactive sessions with staff in project phases. Enhance bank-wide knowledge and engagement in CD work programmes and projects including through delivering presentations.
  • Ensure the communication of CD work programmes uses up-to-date channels, technologies, visualisation and other relevant tools.
  • Identify any risks that may arise in connection with CD’s communication and stakeholder engagement and propose timely and appropriate actions for mitigation in coordination with the Communications unit and within the Bank’s communication framework.
  • Draft and edit notes, reports, presentations and background material on the CD work programmes and projects. Ensure the Head of REFM is well briefed for interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist the Head of REFM in planning and preparing for high-level meetings and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensures that the documentation and information about the CD work programmes and project is of a high-quality and standard.

Qualifications, skills, and experience:

  • University degree in a related discipline, such as business management or communications, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience in strategic communication planning of real estate and facility management work programmes and projects.
  • Previous experience in communications, stakeholder relations and work programme management.
  • Understanding of building infrastructure and maintenance.
  • Experience in project management and stakeholder engagement within a construction building programme.
  • Experience in writing board reports and similar documents for senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate convincingly with diverse groups of stakeholders at all levels, including senior audiences.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in relationship management and influencing. Good team player.
  • Excellent organisational, planning, project and time management skills. Positive and pro-active work attitude, ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in supervising external vendors.
  • Knowledge and experience of digital collaboration technologies, including integrated communications, online team collaboration tools, telepresence and mobile computing.
  • Well organised, flexible and able to perform under pressure.
  • Excellent communication, writing and editing skills. Superior speaking, layout and design skills.
  • Fluent in English (oral and written); fluency in German a plus.
