 Supply of Solar Training Equipment for Vocational Training Institutes in Tonga

 

DT Global is the managing contractor of the Tonga Australia Support Platform (TASP) an Australian Government investment providing a range of support services to DFAT and Technical Advisers deployed to work in Tonga.

Scope of Services

The Tonga Australia Support Platform (TASP), implemented by DT Global on behalf of the Australian Government, invites submissions from qualified suppliers for the supply and delivery of solar training equipment to support vocational training in Sustainable Energy (Solar) Level 4 in Tonga.

This procurement contributes to strengthening national training capacity under the Ministry of Education and Training (MET) and supports implementation of the National Certificate in Sustainable Energy (Solar) Level 4, which requires specialised practical equipment to deliver competency-based training. The equipment will be used by the vocational institute to simulate grid-connected, off-grid, hybrid, and solar home system installations as required under the qualification’s practical units.

Responsibilities:  

This RFT seeks a supplier (or suppliers) to provide fully compliant, high-quality solar PV training equipment and deliver it to Nuku‘alofa, Tonga. While suppliers may quote for individual items, preference is given to those who can supply most or all required components.

Key Requirements:

  • Supply of solar training equipment, including PV modules, controllers, batteries, testing tools, hybrid and SHS training systems, and all necessary accessories.

  • All products must be new, unused, and sourced from authorised distributors.

  • No installation or commissioning services are required.

 

Delivery Responsibilities:
Suppliers must handle packing, export preparation, shipping to Tonga (CIF/DDP), and provide all customs documentation, HS codes, and manifests. TASP can support customs clearance if needed.

Supplier Documentation:
Quotations must include datasheets, warranty details (minimum 2 years, 5 years where applicable), SEIAPI compliance declaration, delivery timeframes, cost breakdowns, and total pricing including freight. Equivalent alternatives may be offered if they meet SEIAPI standards.

Not Included in This RFT:
The training centre will provide items such as simulated roof structures, mounting boards, PPE, spirit levels, and general electrical hand tools.
